by WA8TPP Geauga County Public Service, Emergency and Weather
Net, Monday, 9:00 PM, 147.015 MHz.; Swap-N-Shop Net, Tuesday, 7:30 PM ,
147.015 MHz.; Lake County ARA Net, Thursday, 7:00 PM, 147.210 MHz.; Dave’s Thursday Night Open Net, Thursday, 9:00 PM,
147.015 MHz.; Trivia Net, Daily, 9:00 AM, 146.940 MHz. Satern Net, Tuesday, 7:00 PM,
146.82 MHz. Tri-county Traffic Training Net, Tuesday, Friday, and
Sunday, 9:30 p.m., 147.015MHz.. Please support all the nets on the band as if we don’t
they could disappear along with the frequencies. Use ‘em or loose ‘em as they say. If
there is a net you would like me to list just drop me a note via e-mail or
snail mail or call me and I’ll be glad to list it in the next newsletter. I know there are many more that are not
listed. NORMA WEB SITE: NORMA now has a web site. Most of the recent newsletters and rosters
are posted on the net for your convenience.
Posting are in HTML, Word, and Adobe for your convenience. If you want to print them out you will have
them in the original form with columns using Word or Adobe. The HTML format works fine but looses the
format. The URL for the site is: www.normaweb.org. We hope you will visit our site for your
newsletters. The cost of mailing is
getting quite expensive and we are looking at this medium as a way of minimizing
our expenses. Enjoy and thanks. REPEATER OPERATION: by WA8TPP The repeater has been operating quite well lately,
knock on wood. Should problems arise we
will do our best to correct the problem(s) as quickly as possible. One recent problem that has not impacted the
operation of the Newbury repeater is that we have lost our battery backup. We probably will not replace the batteries as
we now have backup emergency generator power available. We are considering replacing the batters for
a redundant backup but they are expensive, require and lot of maintenance and
only have limited airtime depending on how many batteries are used and how they
are connected. We will keep everyone
posted on our decisions. NEWSLETTER CONTENT: I know I sound like a broken record but I would like
items for the newsletter especially if you would like to have it on a more
regular basis. I would like to make it a
quarterly mailing but without information for the newsletter I am getting
discouraged. I feel everyone is interested
in receiving the publication so I am hoping that with some help we can keep it
going. I also wonder if you are
interested in receiving the roster with the newsletter. Please let me know. Information for the newsletter may be sent to: Dick Ingraham, WA8TPP 7366 Crossfield Ave. Mentor, OH 44060-7540 email:
